I consider myself in the middle when it comes to keeping up with technology. I felt a little left behind when it came to this blogging sensation, however, and am a little embarrassed to just now be finding my voice in this arena.
Having a beautiful little boy with autism, and two darling neuro-typical daughters, life is full of surprises. So many times I have wanted to have somewhere to record these happenings and what I have learned from them. Thirty years ago...heck, ten years ago, I would have bought a pretty little journal and recorded them there. Now I shall try doing so here.
There are so many of us parents and caregivers stumbling through an "on the job" education of how to raise a child with autism. I believe we need to be there for each other - to share what works, what didn't work for us, to lean on each other. So, here's hoping that some of what I put down here will someday be of help to a frantic mom looking for answers, or understanding.
For me, it will be a place to record what it's like - really like - to live with autism. For cathersis and for posterity. For now, I will bask in the glory of creating my spot. I'll start using it tomorrow. Good night.
It's so nice to see you blogging. It seems like we found our blogging voice at almost the same time. I started Caffeinated Autism Mom in the middle of January and I'm still learning. I'm following you now and hope you will do the same (http://caffeinatedautismmom.blogspot.com). Maybe we should chat about guest posts for each other at some point. :-) See you in the blogosphere!
